Dr Wani Zahran

General Practitioner, Female, BMed

Originally from Malaysia, Dr. Wani attained her medical degree through the University of Newcastle in 2016. She has worked at the Prince of Wales Hospital and Blacktown Hospital in Sydney as a Resident Medical Officer.

Dr Wani has moved to Ulladulla from Sydney with her husband, who is also a GP in the area. Dr Wani is a General Practitioner with a keen interest in Women’s Health and Paediatrics.

Dr Akmal Syafiq

General Practitioner, Male, MPH, BMed

Dr. Akmal Syafiq, an Australian trained General Practitioner with 6 years’ experience practicing in Australia. After graduating from the University of Newcastle, Dr. Akmal subsequently completed a Masters Degree in Public Health (UNSW) while working in the Central Coast Area Health District.

Dr Akmal has an interest in preventative health. He is fluent in English and Malay.

Dr Joshua Boom

General Practitioner, Male, MD, LLB (Hons 1), BE (Hons 1)

Dr Joshua Boom is a graduate from the University of Wollongong and is originally from the South Coast. He previously trained in engineering and law and worked as a lawyer for 10 years in Wollongong before realising medicine was his passion and decided to retrain as a doctor.

Joshua has mainly worked in Wollongong Hospital, but he has also worked in the Nowra and Milton Hospitals. He has completed terms in medicine, surgery, obstetrics and women’s health, intensive care, anaesthetics and emergency medicine. Joshua enjoys all aspects of general medicine. He enjoys playing squash and walking his dogs along the beach.

Dr Saba Imran enjoys all aspects of general practice with an interest in paediatrics, women’s health and emergency medicine. She has worked in various hospitals including Liverpool, Blacktown, Wollongong and Cumberland. When not working she enjoys spending time with her young family.

Dr Rossi has over 30 years experience in general practice, including several years experience in sports and occupational medicine. His special interests are preventative medicine, patient education, exercise prescription for middle aged men and weight loss regimes. Dr Rossi consults on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Steve Davis consults Tuesdays – Fridays. He also is on the emergency roster at the Milton Ulladulla Hospital.

General Practitioner, Male

Dr David Wall is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He has been living and working in the Milton-Ulladulla region since 2015. David consults four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. David enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a particular interest in paediatrics and skin cancer medicine.

When not at work, David is enjoying our local beaches and spending time with his young family.

Dr Yen-yi Jessica Chua

General Practitioner, Female. Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) (BSc. (Physio)) from Curtin University Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (Honours) (MBBS(Hons)) from The University of Sydney

Dr. Jessica Chua graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006. She has trained in various hospitals, including Liverpool, Nepean, Hornsby and Wollongong Hospitals. She has done training in mainly in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Orthopaedics. She has also volunteered with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) from 2016 to 2018, serving mainly in Middle East conflict zones. She realized her passion for rural and remote medicine after returning to Australia. Dr. Jessica also works at the Milton Ulladulla Hospital Emergency and has admitting rights.

She enjoys all aspects of rural general practice. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her dogs and potter about in the garden.

Dr Ian Tait graduated from the University of NSW MBBS (Hons) NSW. He established the practice in 1981. Since the early 80s he has worked in both General Practice and at the local hospital in anaesthetics, and in accident and emergency. Dr Tait has an interest in skin cancer and performs minor surgery on Thursday afternoons. Dr Tait is a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Wollongong Medical School. Dr Tait supervises Medical Registrars at the practice. Dr Tait consults on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Dr Matthew Allan

General Practitioner, Male

Dr Matthew Allan is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of GPs. He worked for several years as a community and hospital pharmacist before starting his medical career by completing a Graduate Medical Degree at the University of Wollongong.

Matthew began his medical career as a junior doctor at Westmead Hospital in Sydney completing terms in: medicine, surgery, obstetrics and women’s health, and emergency medicine. Rural General Practice has always been his passion and he relishes the opportunity to practice it in the Ulladulla area.

Matthew has an interest in all aspects of family medicine and has completed a Diploma of Child Health (DCH) through the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Dr David Charles

General Practitioner, Male

Dr Charles has been consulting at the Ulladulla Medical Clinic since 1989. Prior to this he worked at Concord Hospital and later as a Partner in a General Practice in Sydney. Since moving to the South Coast he worked in both General Practice and, until 2012, at the local hospital in accident and emergency and anaesthetics. Dr Charles has a special interest in diabetes and skin cancer, and performs minor surgery on Wednesday afternoons at the Clinic.

Dr Charles is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Wollongong Medical School, and supervises Medical Students and GP Registrars at the practice.

Dr Paul Rothe

Dr Paul Rothe joined the practice in 1994. Since moving to the area, he has worked in both GP and at the local hospital on the accident and emergency and anaesthetics rosters. Dr Paul Rothe is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Wollongong Medical School. His special interests are gastroenterology and emergency medicine

Dr Alla Smoliar

General Practitioner, Female

Dr Alla Smoliar has a special interest in women’s and children’s health and holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH), and a Diploma in in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Dip Obs). Dr Smoliar trained in Emergency medicine, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Wagga Wagga, as well as working as a GP locum all over Australia. After traveling widely throughout Australia, Alla has decided to make Ulladulla her permanent home.
